Intumescent strips and cold smoke seals
A fire door is to provide a restriction to the passage of fire, smoke and toxic fumes and requires intumescent strips to be installed. Furthermore at the onset of a fire, quantities of cold smoke will be generated to pass and cold smoke seals will provide a barrier to the ingress of this cold smoke. Fire doors need to be fitted with intumescent strips and cold smoke seals to achieve this aim.
Most newly fitted doors have intumescent strips and cold smoke seals already fitted into the units themselves. However, you may have older fire doors that now need these fitted to comply with current fire regulations.
Fitting in most cases will involve removing the fire door and routing out the door and installing new modern fully fitting intumescent strips and cold smoke seals.
Fitting can be made around most customers requirements including evening, night time and weekend if required.

Door Self Closers
All fire doors must have a mechanical device to ensure the door closes in an emergency.
A standard door closing mechanism can be fitted to the top of a door to ensure the door closes and creates a seal with the frame and should be used in conjunction with intumescent strips and cold smoke seals.
However you may require the door to be kept open to allow for the flow of people or air around a building. Door wedges are totally illegal and should never be used, so a mechanical device, like Dorgard, should be fitted to ensure the door will close.
If you have a fire alarm a Dorgard can be fitted to the door. The door can be held open by the Dorgard and these will detect the sound of a fire alarm, releasing the restraint causing the door to close. These are a cost effective way to hold open doors safely in a working environment.

Escape Chairs
Do you have an office, care home, doctors surgery which is on more than one floor. Is there the possibility of mobility impaired staff, visitors or the general public using your premises and looking to make an escape in an emergency. Under the Regulatory Reform act you are now responsible for evacuating these persons who may be in your building and you cannot rely or wait for the fire service to do this for you. Under the Disability Discrimination Act you must also provide safe access and egress from the building.
After many trials we have chosen to supply to our customers the Globex evacuation chair.
